Dietary Guidelines–2015

Every 5 years the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture publish Dietary Guidelines.  It was noted that this year’s publication was focused on two important realities.  Nearly half of all American adults have one or more preventable chronic diseases and nearly two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese.  So the problems are real and some resolution to these conditions can be  realized through improved nutrition and increased physical activity.  During the next several months I will be presenting discussions-much of it from DG 2015–which will be useful to those who are seriously interested in this subject.
